Blizzard
Beach
Water Park - Suppose
a fierce snowstorm hit Florida, we built a cool ski resort, and
then... it all started to melt! Well, you'd end up with things like
the simulated ski jump"Summit Plummet", the tallest and
fastest water slide in the U.S.A. launching you on a 120 foot 60
mph plunge. Teamboat Springs where your family can raft down 1200
feet of rushing waterfalls. Toboggan Racers, the fast lane straight
to the bottom of a Florida mountain. Grab an innertube and raft
1/2 a mile down the lazy Cross Country Creek. Brave the Slush Gusher
speed slide at 50mph. And lots more.
Blizzard
Beach is a huge waterpark with waves of fun in the sun and rated
as one of the best in the U.S.A. Arranged as if it were built in
the Rocky Mountains at a bonafide ski resort it really is unique
for Florida. Stay at
Disney's moderately priced
Disney's
Coronado Springs Resort
which is themed to regions of Mexico and the American Southwest.
Set around a lake, it features a Mayan pyramid in the center of
a fun pool area and offers one full-service restaurant and oh yeah,
it
is very near Blizzard Beach and the Animal Kingdom! More
information on Blizzard
Beach Water park.
River
Country
-
(closed) If Tom
Sawyer built a water park, this would be it. The first Disney water
park in Florida, River Country, is now "really" part of
the Fort Wilderness Campground. It is just about one quarter the
size of Typhoon Lagoon. Located right on Bay Cove (a roped off section
of Bay Lake) you can brave the flume rides and end up in the clear
waters below..(and maybe play water volleyball) Or just spend a
day lakeside catching some rays (sunshine) and lots more.
Modeled
after FrontierLand and carved out of the woods, River Country resembles
the "OL' swimmin' hole" of days gone by and it recreastes
the rustic America charm. Perfect for picnics and a great place
to have fun and enjoy the clime and water rides. While here, you
can also go for a trail ride on horseback (or Ponies for the kids)
or rent a small powerboat and explore the local waters of the Disney
resort.
Of
course for River Country check out the Fort
Wilderness Resort and Campground where you can camp in your
own cabin or R.V. and enjoy the great outdoors, Disney style. Each
Wilderness Cabin places you right in the heart of the great outdoors,
with all the modern amenities you would expect. For guests who bring
their own place to stay, camping doesn't get any better! All 784
private campsites are surrounded by lush wilderness. Enjoy two swimming
pools, a white-sand beach, horseback riding, and more. RV and tent
camping sites are available.
