Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Surf Disney! A surfside playground left behind by a "great storm", Typhoon Lagoon -- with its breaking waves and saltwater shark reef -- ushers in tropical water adventures for Walt Disney World guests. Located near Downtown Disney West Side, the 56-acre Typhoon Lagoon includes a man-made watershed mountain with eight twisting-and-turning water slides and roaring streams. A two-and-one-half acre wave-making lagoon features surfing-size waves.

Typhoon Lagoon Water Park - is a tropical getaway busting with Florida's largest wave pool (one of the largest wave pools in the world actually) and a Coral reef to snorkel through. Palm trees, tropical vegetation and tidal pools abound! The largest inland surfing lagoon in Florida allows you to bodysurf 5-ft waves while catching some rays.. Triple 214 feet enclosed speed slides named Humunga Kowabunga shoot down inside Mount Mayday, the centerpiece of the park.

Mount MayDay stands over 90 feet high and has a small boat, Miss Tilly perched precariously atop it. Mt MayDay will signal the onset of the 4 feet waves in the lagoon with water fountains and a horn! More top attractions at Typhoon Lagoon (a huge 60 acre water thrill park) include the three curving, 300ft Storm Slides, Mount MayDay, Gangplank and Keelhaul Falls where you can raft down rapids, race through rock formations, and careen through caves.

Other attractions at Typhoon Lagoon include; Shark Reef where you can snorkel around a sunken ship with real fish and sharks. Castaway Creek so you can just lie back and relax and ride through a rain forest with relaxing waterfalls, cool caves and grottos.

Sandy White Beach, a huge white sandy beach with hammocks, palm trees and plenty of shade. Ketchakiddee Creek a waterworld paradise for the small fry which features more than twenty different water activities including water slides, floating boats, ball fountains, waterfalls and animals that squirt water (ages 2-6). Moms may opt to relax in the Florida sunshine at Getaway Glen while the kids enjoy a wonderful day frolicking in the waters!
