ORLANDO, FL (November 15, 2004) - THE MALL AT MILLENIA promises to be the region's top holiday shopping destination for Central Florida residents and visitors, offering an unparalleled mix of cutting-edge merchandise and the year's most coveted gifts. Between November 19th through Christmas Eve, the Center will present signature events within a stunning décor glowing with the festive sights, sounds and delectable scents of the holidays.

Seven new retailers, including the region's first and only Christian Dior, holdeverything and SONY Style, will be open in time for holiday shopping, joining more than 80 unduplicated retailers at the Center. "From Ann Taylor to Z Gallerie, it's all in the mix at THE MALL AT MILLENIA this holiday season," said Steven Jamieson, general manager. "We have the popular, national brands that everyone shops, plus merchandise consumers can't find anywhere else, with price points ranging from moderate to luxury."

World-class retailers combine with the Center's signature events to make a visit to THE MALL AT MILLENIA a holiday shopping experience unlike any other. On Friday, November 19th at 6:30-8:30 p.m., the Center unwraps Santa's Magical Arrival and Tree Lighting, a free event for children of all ages. The Winter Garden entrance and Orangerie Cafés will be transformed into a child's holiday wish come true complete with face painters, caricature artists, mimes, stilt walkers and other strolling performers. The Orlando Ballet, Mad Cow Theatre and The Orlando Chorale perform excerpts from their Holiday Triple Treat throughout the evening, and the event culminates with the illumination of the mall's 42-foot-high tree and the surprise arrival of Santa Claus.

  • Central Floridians can enjoy a free holiday concert by dynamic songstress Tierney Allen, when the Center's First Fridays series returns on Friday, December 3rd, from 5-8 p.m.
  • From mid-November through late December, THE MALL AT MILLENIA will be festively adorned with sophisticated décor created in collaboration with The Becker Group of Baltimore, Maryland, known throughout the world for its spectacular holiday displays for such American icons as the Sears Tower.
  • Festive Décor Provides Magnificent Backdrop for Santa Photo Opportunities -
  • Extended Shopping Hours, Gift Certificates and More Will Make Holidays Bright
  • Between November 17th and December 13th, shoppers can make a child's wish for special gifts come true this holiday season through a partnership between THE MALL AT MILLENIA and The Salvation Army. Guest can "adopt" an angel from a beautifully adorned Angel Tree located in Orangerie Cafés overlooking Grand Court.
  • 42’ foot-high illuminated tree and 30-foot-high “Santa’s Winter Pavilion” where children can meet and take formal and candid pictures with Santa

SeaWorld welcomes guests to create yuletide memories and celebrate the season during Christmas at SeaWorld November 26 through January 2. This holiday event features festive decorations, live holiday music from classical musicians and carolers, light snowfalls and a special yuletide Shamu night show. Enjoy snowfalls at the Waterfront, a 48-foot-tall Christmas tree adorned with thousands of brilliant lights and stunning ornaments, Santa's readings of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas," and live holiday music from classical musicians and carolers.

Macy's Holiday Parade at Universal  Studios Florida

The merriment of Macy's world-famous Thanksgiving Day Parade comes to life in Macy's Holiday Parade at Universal Studios theme park. The parade kicks off at dusk each evening and features authentic Macy's balloons and floats, many of which are new for 2004. And this year, Santa Claus and his reindeer, straight from their appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, will add a festive flair to the grand finale.

At Islands of Adventure theme park, guests can meet the usually reclusive Grinch and his loveable dog Max in the Grinch's lair, frolic with whimsical Whos in Dr. Seuss' "Whoville," and enjoy the nightly Whoville Whobilation Show during the Grinchmas celebration.

Both Macy's Holiday Parade and Grinchmas celebrations are included in the price of admission.
The holiday celebration continues at Universal Orlando's three world- class on-site hotels, which will glisten with festive decor. Guests will be captivated by joyful carolers, tree-lighting ceremonies, holiday cookie decorating sessions, holiday movies, and more.

And old-fashioned holiday is in store at CityWalk, the 30-acre entertainment complex with glittering decorations, horse-drawn carriage rides, live musical performances, intermittent "snow" flurries, and the chance to meet Santa and his elves.

For nine magical days, Nov. 13 through Nov. 21, the Orlando Museum of Art will be transformed into a glittering holiday wonderland, where trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses ignite holiday spirit. A collection of 50 large trees, full-scale vignettes and tablescapes, all decorated by local designers is this year's centerpiece. A few of the Daytona Beach area's scheduled events have been rescheduled, but the Biketoberfest motorcycle festival is still confirmed for Oct. 21-24. Jeep Beach, originally scheduled for this October and featuring trail rides, concerts, exhibitions, and special offers, will now be held May 20-22, 2005.
