A FAITH-FILLED, ACTION PACKED WEEKEND AWAITS WITH ROCK THE UNIVERSE 2005 AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS


ORLANDO, Fla. – With two nights of Christian rock performances, two of the nation’s foremost speakers and the thrills of Universal’s cutting-edge attractions, Rock The Universe 2005 will inspire and excite Christian music fans.

From Grammy-winning Michael W. Smith, to the top-selling Jars of Clay, Rock The Universe will feature two jam-packed nights of the best in Christian music, entertainment and excitement on Friday and Saturday, September 9 and 10. Combined with the thrilling attractions and rides of Universal Studios, including the all new, Fear Factor Live!, music fans will experience a weekend that is sure to excite and inspire.

“For eight years we’ve showcased the best Christian rock performers and highlighted the Christian music stars of tomorrow for thousands of Christian and mainstream music fans,” said Jim Timon, Universal Orlando senior vice president of entertainment. “Guests can see the bands they love, hear the inspirational words of Christian speakers and experience the thrill of our first class attractions, for an unparalleled overall experience.”

On Friday night, in addition to Michael W. Smith and Jars of Clay, the line-up includes the alternative pop sounds of David Crowder Band; Building 429’s inspirational rock music, Day of Fire, 12 Stones, Shane & Shane, Andy Chrisman and Circleside. On Saturday, the talent includes Atlanta based rockers Third Day; the catchy tunes, high energy and explosive guitar sounds of Reliant K; top songwriter Chris Tomlin, Skillet, Pillar, Grits, Joel Engle, Monk & Neagle, Hyper Static Union and Kainos. In addition, two showcase acts will entertain and enlighten the audience, inspirational speaker David Nassar on Friday, September 9 and Jay Strack on Saturday, September 10.

With this year’s opening of Fear Factor Live! at Universal Studios, Rock The Universe attendees will have the chance to test their courage and strength as they perform pulse-pounding stunts and experience the thrill of the blockbuster series in a way they could not before: live. In each show, guests will compete against each other in a progression of extreme stunts. Based upon the award-winning NBC program “Fear Factor,” Fear Factor Live marks the first time a reality television show will be transformed into a theme park experience.

Guests will also experience Universal Studio’s other exciting attractions throughout the weekend, including Revenge of The Mummy – The Ride, Shrek 4-D, Twister, Men in Black Alien Attack, and Jimmy Neutron’s NickToon Blast.

Special packages will include access to Islands of Adventure where fans can enjoy attractions such as the Incredible Hulk Coaster, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, and the Jurassic Park River Adventure.

For groups of 10 or more, the Rock Your Weekend ticket offers great value and a weekend of inspiring music and thrilling rides and attractions. For $89.95 per person plus tax, group members receive tickets to both nights of Rock The Universe and Friday, Saturday and Sunday admission to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Tickets are non-refundable and will be honored at Universal Studios after 4 p.m. until the park closes at 1 a.m. Select Universal Studio’s attractions will remain open until 1 a.m. throughout the weekend for added enjoyment.
